The fitness industry is a the center of a great paradox: Americans are spending more and more money each year on diet books, fitness club memberships, and pricey home gym equipment, while at the same time becoming more obese and less healthy. In other words, people are motivated enough to take the first step toward improving their health and quality of life, but inevitably fail when it comes to truly commit to making meaningful lifestyle changes.
As a lifestyle and weight management consultant and personal trainer my role is to help individuals bridge the gap between fitness, nutrition and lifestyle changes so they can achieve a greater quality of life over the long haul.
This 2-hour casual discussion begins with a 30-min presentation on basic nutrition as well as tips for eating for success, whether you are trying to achieve weight loss, maintain a healthy lifestyle or improve your sports performance. For the remainder 90 minutes, we'll engage in a lively discussion on lifestyle, nutrition, tips, recipes and strategies on how to better manage our eating habits and how to maximize every bite. Light refreshments will be served.
While this workshop is not related to the "Food Matters" movie, it is losely-based on the principles discussed in it. See the trailer below for more information.
